Rightist and Leftist Hegelians popped up in my assigned reading for Marxian Economic Theory, except they were called Conservative Hegelians and Young Hegelians. Karl Marx was a Young/Leftist Hegelian until he rejected the way Hegel applied Idealism to history. Marx thought it would be more useful to apply Hegel's notion of dialectics to economic theory, so apply Hegel's notion of dialectics to economic theory he did.
